Eid henna in Montréal
Eid morning has a rhythm — the early prayer, the good clothes, the hands you keep glancing at all day. I do henna for Eid across Montréal and the towns around it, natural and gentle enough for the little ones, warm enough to feel like part of the celebration. The stain tells the story, and on Eid it's a happy one.
Book ahead — Eid fills fast
The two weeks before Eid are my busiest of the whole year, and the good evening slots go first. If you know you'd like henna for Eid, send me a date early — even before the moon is confirmed — and we'll pencil it in. You request a date through the form, I reply by email with my availability and a price for what you have in mind, and a small deposit holds your spot. Families and groups are my favourite bookings, so tell me how many hands I'm doing.
A day or two before, so the colour peaks on Eid
Henna isn't finished when I lift the cone. It goes on orange and deepens to a maroon-brown over the next day or two, darkest on the palms and fingertips. So for Eid I like to apply one to two days before, not the morning of — that way the colour is at its richest when you're greeting everyone. Leave the paste on four to eight hours, scrape it off rather than washing, and keep your hands dry for the first day. It lasts one to two weeks, so it carries you right through the visits.
Natural, safe, and gentle for the whole family
My paste is simple — henna powder, lemon, a little sugar, and skin-safe oils like cajeput and lavender — kind to children and sensitive skin. I offer natural henna, artificial colours, and a safe black with no PPD, so there's a good option for everyone in the house. I never use the chemical "black henna" that can burn the skin. For solo appointments we can meet at a café near me or near you; for a whole family or an Eid gathering, I come to you. I serve Montréal, Laval, Longueuil, Brossard, and Dollard-des-Ormeaux.
Common questions
- How far ahead should I book for Eid?
- As early as you can — I'd aim for about two weeks before Eid, and sooner if you're a group. The days right before Eid book up quickly, so requesting a date early is the surest way to get the time you want. Send me your date through the form and I'll confirm by email.
- When should the henna actually go on before Eid?
- One to two days before, not the morning of Eid. The stain starts orange and deepens over 24 to 48 hours, so applying a day or two ahead means it's at its darkest, richest maroon exactly when you want it. Leave the paste on as long as you comfortably can and keep your hands dry for the first day.
- Can you do the whole family, including the kids?
- Yes — family and group bookings are my favourite, and Eid is the perfect time for them. My natural paste is gentle enough for children and sensitive skin. For a gathering I come to you; just let me know roughly how many people and what ages so I can plan the time. The price is quoted after we talk through your day and your designs.
- Is your black henna safe?
- Yes. I offer a safe black that contains no PPD — I never use the chemical "black henna" that can burn or scar the skin. Alongside it I have natural henna and artificial colours, all built on the same simple, skin-friendly paste, so we can pick what suits each person. If anyone has very sensitive skin, tell me and we'll go with the gentlest option.
Tell me about your event and I'll reply with dates and a quote.
